    While Clearwater Florida offers the latest and greatest in nightlife, food and dining, as well as things to do, Clearwater is also very rich in history and offers many landmarks and places to visit that are full of heritage and exciting historical facts. Also, there is always something going on in the Clearwater area with fun food festivals, art shows, animal shows, and hundreds of beach activities year around.

    Clearwater is located in Pinellas County Florida which holds the record for the longest consecutive days of sunlight in the United States; an amazing 768 days! But don’t worry that you may come to Clearwater and have bad weather because Pinellas County still has an average of 361 days of sunshine every year! So whatever you do, bring plenty of sunscreen and don’t forget your bathing suit because we know that you will want to take advantage of our almost endless sunshine!

    Clearwater Florida’s population in 2016 was 107,685 and Pinellas County’s total population for 2016 was 916,542 people. With 107,685 people, Clearwater is not too big and it is not too small, but as Goldilocks would have said, “Clearwater is just right!”

    Clearwater boasts countless restaurants from Southern down home cooking to exotic fair. It has been said that you could eat at a different restaurant every night for a year and still not run out of great restaurants in which to dine in the Clearwater Florida area.

    Also, there is constantly something going on in the way of beach festivals, art shows, food tasting extravaganzas, as well as a myriad of other fun and exciting things to do in the Clearwater Florida area. And whatever you do, when visiting Clearwater be sure and visit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium which was the location for two major motion pictures “Dolphin Tales” and “Dolphin Tales 2” and is the home of the dolphin made famous by that movie, “Winter the Dolphin”.

    Speaking of dolphins, you will want to take one of the many dolphin boat tours in the Clearwater Pass area where you can see dolphin swimming and frolicking in the Gulf of Mexico. Also, every once in a while you will see a lazy manatee family lumber by with a mother, father and cute little baby manatees acting like they don’t have a care in the world!

    One Of A Kind Fresh Seafood

    If you want more excitement, you can take a real pirate ship out into the Gulf where they will “shiver your timbers” with good fun, food and an occasional cannon fired at an imaginary enemy. Also, for you fishermen and fisherwomen, the fishing in the Clearwater area is some of the best in the world. King fish, bonefish, grouper, and even shark are just some of the thousands of species of fish that are found in this area. You can go out on one of the many big charter boats where they will provide you everything you need for an exciting and fun day fishing in the Gulf.

    Clearwater is served by two major airports, Tampa International Airport and St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport. Tampa International is ranked as the 11th amongst the Top 30 busiest airports but boasts the fastest security wait times, so if you visit Clearwater via Tampa International you will get in and out of the airport in record time which will give you that much more time to enjoy Clearwater. The average time from start to finish in going through Tampa International’s security is under 12 minutes. Eat your heart out LaGuardia; number 30 in the group for longest security wait times.
