    Why Consider St. Petersburg Florida

    Traveling and vacationing in St. Petersburg for many years before moving to the city, we find ourselves trying to be cool and hip by first calling it the St. Pete. We all do this and there’s nothing wrong with calling it St. Pete, but we are here to tell you that you need to know the inside lingo of the city. Locals call downtown St. Petersburg The Burg, and you did not hear it here but downtown locals are often referred to as the Burgers. It’s an inside lingo term that you should know and if you are doing to move to St. Pete and consider to blend in with the locals.

    If you have visited the city you must’ve asked yourself - what’s with all these food trucks? They are everywhere and you can eat at any time year round. There are favorites that locals seem to like over others, but I’ll let you experiment and decide for yourself - I’ll just say that you will not be disappointed with any of them no matter what kind of food you prefer; sandwiches, crepes, paninis, fries, dot dogs, and I’m not even going to try to begin to list out the cold refreshing beverages and ice cream available for you to take delight in. Especially if you simply want to hop in your car to go to the beach, these food trucks become so convenient when you want to simply grab a quick bite to eat and not worry about finding a restaurant, driving and parking somewhere, or finding a table on a busy day.

    The Best Beaches In Country

    We don’t know about you but we have visited Miami many times, and even Ft. Lauderdale, but in our opinion St. Petersburg, Florida has the best beaches in the United State. Ft. Desoto Park is sven miles of white, pristine sandy beach, with campground, fishing pier, nature trails and even a boat launch. But don’t take my word for it, visit the city and see it for yourself. If you have visited the city than you already know that I’m not stretching the truth. Now just imagine instead of vacating to the city, making it your home and being able to visit the beach after a hard day’s work or on the weekend on a regular basis.

    Many decades ago St. Pete used to be known as God’s Waiting Room, because the great majority of the residents were disproportionately retired and older than the rest of the city’s population - hence the phrase. Today, this is no more. We find people and families of all types, ages and sizes who have decided to improve their lifestyle and life quality by relocating to the city of St. Petersburg, Florida to take advantage the make recreational activities the city has to offer its residents every day.

    The city is very proud to be known as a dog-friendly town. St. Petersburg offers two off-leash beaches that you can take you dog(s) instead of leaving your best friend at home. Ft. Desoto and Gandy Bridge Causeway are two terrific beaches that you can enjoy with your dog(s), Ft. Desoto even has a Paw Playground besides the beach. Also, the local restaurants are proud dog-friendly establishments so that when you go out to dinner you can take your best friend.

    A Little Taste Of Heaven In Every Type Of Food

    Whether you’re a carnivore or a vegetarian we are confident you can find great food in St. Pete that you will absolutely love. You can even find raw vegan establishments that will be GMO-free, and gluten-free healthy meals on the menu. But don’t worry if you have to have your meat protein, St. Pete is full of southern style food sizzling off the grill that should make your mouth water just reading this - if this is truly more your style of food that you love to eat.

    During the winter months (if you can call it that) the Saturday Morning Market is where locals gravitate to for organic veggies, fresh fruits, crafts and local art. If you are more into artisan wares than the St. Pete Indie Market is known as a funky local art hot spot for everything like jewelry, herbs and art. If far-out art is your style, then check out the Salvador Dali Museum for a great trippy creative experience which is home to the largest Dali collection outside of the European continent. If surrealism is not your cup of tea then check out the architecture of the built itself - quite a wonder to see with your eyes.

    Notable events that seem to bring in tourists into the city include Ribfest and the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. In November, the Ribfest brings the world’s top barbecue ribbers to St. Pete while listening to national touring acts performing good ol’ country and rock & roll music. The Grand Prix is a three day event in the heart of downtown St. Pete for the Pro Mazda Championship series and the IndyCar Series. We only mention these events to show you how people gravitate to St. Pete because of its great weather and fantastic environment that everyone is sure to enjoy and love.

    Rejuvenate Your Lifestyle In The Burg

    In our opinion moving to St. Petersburg Florida is a sort of Fountain of Youth. With all that the city has to offer that should keep anyone busy on a regular basis, it is due to make you appreciate life and improve your outlook on your lifestyle. If you don’t believe me, try St. Pete’s very own Fountain of Youth, that’s right a water fountain that it is said to make those wrinkles on your face disappear - don’t just take my word for it, try it for yourself.

    Here’s something about St. Petersburg that I think you should be especially aware of, it’s a sunny city, really, really sunny city. If you enjoy patios, rooftop bars, outdoor festivals drinking, fishing, golf and even sailing than St. Pete is the city for you - the climate allows you to take advantage of all of these fun recreational activities, which ever one you prefer. By the way, St. Petersburg holds the Guinness World Record for the most days in a row of sunshine, 768 consecutive days of sun.

    We hope this brief overview of the St. Petersburg Florida will help you get to know the city little better, so that you can start to consider St. Pete as your next home location.
